Wildbush Luxury
& Outback Station
9 NIGHTS IN PURE OUTBACK LUXURY
For the absolute Outback trifecta nothing beats the combination of the outstanding accommodation and activities on offer at Bamurru Plains, Bullo River Station and El Questro Homestead. In addition to the very best in Outback hospitality this combination delivers sweeping vistas, breathtaking gorges, rugged sandstone ranges and broad tidal flats to rainforest pockets along with waterways abundant with wildlife. You can explore both Kakadu and the Kimberley – two iconic Aussie Outback destinations, and gain a rare glimpse into Outback Station life on a 500,000 acre working cattle station and homestead.
Darwin is the gateway to this incredible adventure with the incomparable Bamurru Plains your first stop. This beautiful wilderness region, on the edge of Kakaudu National Park, is over 300 square kilometres and shared by just 20 guests. So large is the property that there are four distinct habitats – floodplains and wetlands full of magpie geese and big crocs; stunning melaleuca forests, savannah woodlands where you might bump into brumbies, buffalo, dingos and wallabies; and finally a riverine environment where the silver flashes of fish or sunbathing crocs will catch your eye as you cruise slowly by. Bamurru’s signature experience is a thrilling ride across the floodplains by airboat. This wildlife-packed journey takes you from wide open grasslands to a lagoon surrounded by peeling paper bark trees and provides the opportunity to feel the rush as you skim the surface at speed, and the float in silence listening to the sound of nothing but the bush.
From the far north of the NT you then head south west to Bullo River Station. Encircled by the coffee coloured waters of the Victoria River and rugged hills inscribed with Aboriginal rock art this vast property is not only home to around 4,000 Brahman-cross cattle but a huge variety of local fauna including wallabies, dingoes, wild buffalo, a myriad of native and migratory birds, fish and the omnipresent crocodiles. Bullo River Station’s nearest neighbour is over 2 hours drive away, and the property encompasses half a million acres, creating a feeling of true remoteness. So remote is this region that there are waterholes and Aboriginal art galleries that have remained unseen and untouched for hundreds of years. Bullo offers an expwerience like no other and you can choose a day filled with dust, sweat and the exhilaration of station life; or spend the day exploring stunning landscapes, waterfalls, swimming in remote waterholes, barramundi fishing and discovering Aboriginal rock art and wildlife. Quintessential Australian station life at its best!
Your trifecta? El Questro Homestead. Located in the East Kimberley, El Questro is 700,000 acres of vast and stunningly beautiful terrain close to Kununurra and the Kimberley. With an abundance of natural and ancient flora and fauna you can explore the area by air, land, horse or water. Hike through ancient gorges to waterfalls, fish for barramundi in locations accessible only by helicopter, explore the vast landscape on horseback or simply soak up the sunrise while bird watching at dawn. You can experience it all at El Questro in the heart of the Kimberley. A fitting end to a specatcaular Outback experience.

We wanted the opportunity to see as many wildlife parks as possible and the Classic Safari Company provided an action-packed itinerary that included six, with 11 tiger sightings and nine leopard. This was overlaid with an introduction to Jaisalmer, Jaipur and the 'real' India. Pench and Panna were the hidden gems of a really great trip, very well organised, seamless and enjoyable. As a solo traveller I felt incredibly safe at all times. I want to go back!
Mark Taylor
Exellent and wonderful, reaching way above expectations.
