Changa Safari Camp occupies a privileged position on the southern shores of Zimbabwe‘s Lake Kariba, where open water meets the rugged escarpment of Matusadona National Park. The camp is defined by its sense of space and calm, with uninterrupted views across the lake and a rhythm shaped by wildlife moving freely along the shoreline.
Accommodation is arranged as a small collection of elegantly appointed tented suites, each positioned to maximise privacy and views. Canvas walls, timber decking and soft, natural finishes create a seamless connection to the outdoors, while modern comforts ensure an easy, indulgent stay. The camp’s recent refurbishment, completed at the end of 2025, has refreshed interiors and shared spaces with a lighter palette and considered details, enhancing comfort without losing the camp’s authentic safari soul.
Days unfold at a gentle pace, guided by the unique diversity of experiences on offer. Game drives explore the varied habitats of the concession and neighbouring national park, while boat safaris reveal a different perspective, drifting past elephants, buffalo and birdlife that gather at the water’s edge. Walking safaris offer an intimate way to read the landscape, guided by expert trackers who bring the bush to life through stories and spoor.
Back at camp, meals are relaxed and social, often enjoyed with the lake stretching endlessly beyond the table. Evenings draw guests together around the fire, the sounds of the bush carrying across the water as stars emerge overhead.
