Patagonia
North to South
The best of Argentina's natural landscapes
Commence your journey in Bariloche, Argentina before driving an hour or so to reach Arroyo Verde. Located in an absolutely stunning environment with a backdrop of the snow-called Andes, crystal clear lakes and in an enchanted valley of rock spires, minarets and chimneys, you can make the most of the outdoor environment, particularly if you are an avid horse-rider! Spend three nights riding, hiking, fishing, bird-watching, or perhaps on a photography workshop offered by the estancia.
Fly south to El Calafate and make your way to the remote Aguas Arribas. Your arrival is part of the adventure with the option to either hike in, or take a boat across to the lodge, on the backs of Lago del Desierto. The eco-friendly wooden cabin has views across to the impressive Mt Fitz Roy and so peaceful the lodge being that on still days, trout can be spotted in the waters. A gateway to Los Glaciares National Park, you can spend part of your three nights here hiking, fishing, and otherwise taking in the glaciers, mountains, valleys and waterfalls.
The final leg of your itinerary takes you South once more, right into the heart of Patagonia and its wilderness. Arrive at El Calafate and after an hour or so driving past stunning scenery, arrive to Nibepo Aike. A sheep-breeding farm in a rural environment in Los Glacieres National Park, the Argentine Gaucho experience lives on. Hike in the national park, explore the ranch, sail to the glaciers, ride, watch cattle and the general farm life that continues to evolve each day.
At the end of your journey, return to El Calafate and perhaps explore more of elsewhere in South America (or of Argentina!), or commence your way homebound.

The trip exceeded my expectations and was the best family holiday I have ever had. Our children simply loved it and now I know more about African wildlife than they do about our own farm animals.

We wanted the opportunity to see as many wildlife parks as possible and the Classic Safari Company provided an action-packed itinerary that included six, with 11 tiger sightings and nine leopard. This was overlaid with an introduction to Jaisalmer, Jaipur and the 'real' India. Pench and Panna were the hidden gems of a really great trip, very well organised, seamless and enjoyable. As a solo traveller I felt incredibly safe at all times. I want to go back!
Mark Taylor
Exellent and wonderful, reaching way above expectations.
