Kenya is home to the original safari, think of scene’s from ‘Out of Africa’; sweeping plains filled with wildlife, stunning scenery, and a lone Acacia tree on the horizon!

This adventure kicks off in Nairobi, allowing time to recover from your long-haul flight and gets you into the swing of Africa by visiting some of the city’s highlights, including the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust to see the orphaned baby elephants, the Karen Blixen Museum and the Giraffe Centre, along with some colourful markets.

Soon enough the real adventure begins as you join a scheduled charter flight into the wilderness! The biggest draw card to Kenya is undoubtedly the Maasai Mara, a destination without rival in terms of game viewing, including the Big Five. However, you will also visit Amboseli, in the shadow of Mount Kilimanjaro, famed for its huge elephant herds and the Laikipia plains with dramatic views of Mount Kenya.

12 UNFORGETTABLE DAYS

DAY 1-2 | NAIROBI | 2 NIGHTS

Welcome to Nairobi. Transfer to the small and intimate Karen Gables for a two-night stay. The following day enjoy a tour of Nairobi’s highlights including the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust to see the baby orphaned elephants, the Karan Blixen Museum and the Giraffe Centre.

DAY 3-5 | AMBOSELI | 3 NIGHTS

Today the real adventure begins as you join a scheduled light aircraft charter flight to the Amboseli National Park, to spend three nights at Tortilis Camp. In the shadow of Mt. Kilimanjaro and famed for its huge elephant herds, Amboseli offers many plains game species, giraffe, lion and buffalo, but the 1,000+ elephant population is the key highlight here, and how majestic they are.

DAY 6-8 | LAIKIPIA | 3 NIGHTS

The journey continues with a further charter flight; north this time, toward Mount Kenya and the Laikipia. Here you will spend three nights at Loisaba Tented Camp, with the option of your third night under the stars in their Star-Bed Camp. Here you will enjoy safaris in the 56,000-acre private wildlife conservancy, home to lion, the endangered wild dog, elephant and an abundance of other species. Other activities offered here include horse riding, camel trekking, guided bush walks, mountain biking, visits to the anti-poaching sniffer dogs and Samburu village visits – there is something for everyone in the stunning part of Kenya.

DAY 9-11 | MASAI MARA | 3 NIGHTS

Today you with fly south to the famed Maasai Mara to spend three nights at the idyllic Elephant Pepper Camp. Located in the Mara North Conservancy, it is the perfect location to enjoy the wonders of the Mara which boasts wildlife in abundance, including lion, leopard, buffalo, elephant, giraffe, to name a few. However, it’s also the location of one of nature’s most astonishing spectacles – the annual wildebeest migration – which flows through the Maasai Mara eco-system from July to November each year.

DAY 12 | END OF SAFARI

Enjoy a final safari or bush breakfast before your final charter flight back to Nairobi Wilson airport, followed by a short transfer to Kenyatta International airport to join you onward flight.
