The Namibia Horse Safari Company has over 20 years’ experience guiding a variety of horse riding safaris, taking in Namibia’s stunning beauty and diversity along with the hauntingly beautiful Namib Desert. Their guides are highly experienced and extraordinarily knowledgeable with the team including conservationists, biologists, geologists, researchers and equine specialists. Raised on rough desert terrain the horses are sure-footed and tough and the mixed herd includes Arabs, Haflingers, Trakehners, Nooidgedachts and Boerperds.
Arguably one of the most spectacular deserts on the planet, the Namib, with its iconic ochre dunes and vast grassy plains is a delight to every sense. It hosts a surprising variety of wildlife for a seemingly inhospitable ‘wasteland’ and surprises even the most seasoned of travellers.
The signature Namib Desert Horseback Safari is a challenging 11 day ride which takes in the vast dunes and dramatics vistas of the desert, plus canyons, moonscapes and soft sand beaches as you travel from Sossusvlei to Swakopmund on the Atlantic Coast.
The Damara Elephant Safari takes you from Twyfelfontein to Cape Cross on the Skeleton Coast taking in the inaccessible, rugged wilderness etched with poignantly delicate colours. Encounters with elephant, rhino and even lion are common along the way.
